Calorimeter Copper, Set (P-2345)

Complete set consisting of 75 x 50 mm, (Ht x dia) copper vessel resting on felt pad inside on outer copper vessel 100 x 75 mm (Ht x dia). Outer vessel fitted with boss detachable clip for holding, thermometer, complete with stirrer, lid, without thermometer

 


Calorimeter Joule’s, Simple (P-2350)

To determine specific heat of a liquid by electrical method. It comprises a copper vessel 75 x 50 mm fitted with a cork and a heating coil of thin constantan wire. Terminal connectors for electrical connection. Supplied without thermometer.

 


Calorimeter Joule’s (P-2355)

It is alternate Model used to determine specific heat of a liquid by electrical method. Comprises a copper vessel 75 x 50mm (Ht x diameter) enclosed within an outer vessel of aluminium. A close fitting ebonite lid with rubber cork with hole for thermometer is provided with a wire stirrer and a pair of terminals connected to constantan wire heating coil. The resistance of coil 6.0 ohms and current 0.5 - 1A. Supplied without thermometer.

 


Calorimeter Blocks (P-2365)

Usable for experiments on specific heat capacity of different metals. Cylindrical blocks with 12.5mm central hole to accept immersion heater and hole for thermometer. Mass of each, 1 kg ± 2%

Cylinders (Specific Heat Capacity Specimens) (P-2380)

Equal in mass, comprises six metal cylinders ofmass 100 gm each of Al, brass, copper, iron, lead and zinc.

 


Set Of Specific Heat Cylinders (P-2385)

Equal in size. It consists of six cylinders each of size 38 x 9.5 mm. One each Copper, Lead, Brass, Iron, Zinc and Aluminium.

 


Continuous Flow Calorimeter (P-2395)

To determine electrical equivalent of heat. Vacuum jacketed glass tube with constricting jet for insertion in outlet-end of flow tube to ensure turbulence. Overall length of tube 360 mm approx. Fitted with coiled heating element, resistance 2 ohms, 18 W, wound on removable glass former. Inlet and outlet tubes for water supply and two rubber stoppers to take thermometers (-50°C to 50°C). On wooden base, for connections to d.c. supply upto 6V, 3A Supplied without thermometers and power supply.

 


Food Calorimeter (P-2400)

It is used to determine the absolute heat of combustion of foods (calorific values). It may also used to find out relative values of heat of combustion of a series of foods by comparing the rise of temperature of a fixed volume of water when a constant mass of a substance is burnt completely.

Apparatus Comprises of two assemblies;

a) Calorimeter Unit b) Base Unit

The Calorimeter unit carries heat exchanger unit and base unit has crucible holder, ignition system etc. etc.

a) Calorimeter Unit

Comprises of a glass water jacket 150 x 80 mm (Ht x dia) surrounding a combustion chamber integral with it and open at its base. This combustion chamber is connected to a copper spiral heat transfer tube. The upper end of this tube passes through a hole in the lid on top and when in use is connected to a filter pump to draw the products of combustion through the copper spiral. A wire stirrer also passes through the cover and a hole with a bored rubber stopper is provided to accommodate a thermometer. Supplied complete with thermometer -5 to + 50°C x 0.10C (Mercury in glass)

b) Base Unit

Metal disc about 100 mm dia with a boss for mounting on 12mm retort rod (without rod). The unit works as the base of the combustion chamber and has inlet tubule 6 mm diameter for oxygen supply (oxygen supply is necessary to completely burn the food) and pair of pillars carrying low voltage igniter coil. Also having a moveable crucible support to enable the crucible to raise to the level of igniter coil from outside the assembled apparatus. Supplied without retort stand, crucible or spirit lamp.
